Wheat Ridge Colorado is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. Wheat Ridge Colorado started as a farming community in support of Denver and neighboring mining communities. Obviously the name Wheat Ridge came from the abundance of wheat crop being grown. In an attempt to prevent annexation into another locale, Wheat Ridge incorporated iteself in August of 1969.

Wheat Ridge Colorado contains multiple residential attractions including a historical park and is close proximity to surrounding attractions like the Children's museum and Zoo. Wheat Ridge is located 2 miles south of Arvada and about 5 miles west of Denver. It has a population of just under 35k residents.

Wheat Ridge real estate has been hit hard by the foreclosure and REO market. Residential homes vary from smaller condos to larger homes with limited new construction. A lot of Wheat Ridge homes have some unique character and are considered attractive buys for residential real estate buyers.
